Having spent time and money equipping your studio with surround sound capabilities (regardless of the quality of the kit you have acquired), experimenting with the new creative possibilities now open to you is the best way to understand and appreciate what you can do with 5.1. The transition from ‘traditional’ stereo to surround may initially appear daunting, but once you dip into Sonar’s surround panner, you’ll discover that beneath its apparently simple interface lies a tool that is both intuitive to use and extremely powerful.
