Sonar 5 Workshop Pentagon I & Psyn II Synths
Two new analogue modelling synths are at the heart of Sonar 5 Producer’s sonic arsenal. Brian Smithers explores some subtractive synthesis techniques that really add up...

One of Pentagon I’s most powerful features is its ability to create compelling layered textures by running oscillators 3 and 4 through a different path from oscillators 1 and 2. As an example, we’re going to create a sound that layers a relatively constant tone with a heavily enveloped timbre. Copy the project folder MTMPentPsyn from the coverdisc to your audio drive and open the project titled MTMPentagon.cwp.
