There is much more ‘room’ in a stereo mix than just left and right – and it’s the beginning of a much larger world. The six dimensions that make up this world are panning, volume, time-based effects, modulation, pitch and timing. Mixing in these dimensions produces something that has ‘space’ to it – the final product is free from the restrictive bounds of left and right and moves in many other interesting ways.
