Even though mixing in surround is becoming ever more popular and accessible, the stereo mix is still the preferred format for a transportable music mix and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future – even though stereo has its flaws and is a very ‘false’ reproduction format that attempts to reproduce a sound stage using only two sound sources.
