Synchronising Cubase SX/SL & Reason 2 using ReWire

ReWire enables integration of leading digital audio software. Here Hollin Jones looks at how to combine Reason’s virtual studio with the audio processing capabilities of Cubase.

Developed by Steinberg and Propellerhead Software, ReWire and ReWire 2 are protocols for streaming audio between two computer applications. It’s rare to be able to link two programs as well as ReWire can, and in practice it’s very useful, enabling you to exploit the particular strengths of each program.
