Using Automation in Pro Tools
Pro Tools offers a high degree of automation. Joe Green shows you how to create the witchcraft of faders and plug-ins moving on their own.
One of the great things about the Pro Tools product range is that the incredible automation capabilities of the program are identical across the full product range – Pro Tools FREE, LE and TDM. When Digidesign’s software engineers sat down to work out which features they’d strip out of Pro Tools LE and TDM for the FREE version, the program’s automation capabilities were left untouched. And for that decision we are truly thankful; left in even the most lowly forms of Pro Tools are the most powerful automation features in any of today’s digital audio packages.
