Using the mixer in Cubase SX/SL 2.0
The latest versions of Cubase have more advanced mixers than ever before. Hollin Jones shows you how to avoid getting mixed up…
At the heart of most music setups is a mixer – a way of balancing and managing all the elements of your projects to produce a finished piece. Traditionally, of course, mixing desks were the order of the day, and they’re still used in many setups, whether for managing inputs or running whole systems. But large hardware mixers are too cumbersome for many users, and as software sequencers have taken on more and more audio capabilities, so their built-in mixers have developed. The mixers in Cubase SX and SL 2.0 are considerably more powerful than those in version 1, and offer many advanced options for viewing, routing and customisation.
