Vocal Manipulation
For some people, the voice is a sacred and pure instrument – but not for Liam O’Mullane, who shows you how to morph beyond that to create synthetic and unnatural tones.

Never before in music history have treated vocals been such a
popular trend. Sure, we’ve had the odd hit from one decade to the next
featuring a vocoder or talkbox part, but right now, the majority of the
songs in the Top 20 pop charts are dominated by tracks with
syntheticsounding vocals. On the electronic music scene, meanwhile,
manipulated vocals can give a track that memorable moment to help it
stand out from a string of instrumental tracks in a club and increase
the track’s chances of radio play.
