Vocal Recording
In modern pop music – as well as many other styles – the lead vocal is generally the most important element. George Shilling sings out...

Many recordists spend far more time thinking about the subtleties of drum EQ or MIDI hi-hat programming than capturing the perfect vocal take, but in reality it’s the vocals that generally convey the spirit of the song and carry the ‘hook’ in most cases – and it’s the vocals that captivate the audience and sell records. Evidently, recording vocals is an art that requires more than just owning the right gear (although that is obviously important too).
