Ableton Live 8 Workshop - Audio Warping
Looping is central to making music in Ableton Live, and the latest version boasts a brand-new warping engine. Hollin Jones gets flexible.
Ableton Live 8 Tutorial

Ableton Live 8 now has a brand-new system for warping audio, making it much easier to time-stretch and quantize audio parts to fit your project. This is, after all, at the heart of Live’s approach, enabling you to quickly incorporate loops of any tempo into your projects. Gone is the old system of bending the timeline around the audio; there’s now a much more intuitive method that uses warp markers similar to those that you’ll find in some other leading DAWs. Alongside this is a new system of groove-quantizing both audio and MIDI clips, giving you enhanced control over the feel of your productions.
