Logic Pro 8 Workshop - Quantizing
Logic includes a number of powerful features that can improve the timing of both your MIDI and audio regions. Mark Cousins gets in time.

Quantize has to be one of the most useful day-to-day production tools for MIDI sequencing in a DAW. Despite that status, however, the full extent of its implementation – particularly in an application as vast and as comprehensive as Logic – is often under appreciated. There are several ways to approach quantizing in Logic, from the quick-and-easy tools in the Arrange window to power-user features such as the MIDI Groove Analysis tools (part of the Sample Editor). Understanding the full capabilities of these tools enables you to achieve far more accurate timing in your Logic projects, not just in respect to ‘robotic’ hard quantizing, but also in terms of subtle groove-based effects.
