dbx 162SL
Those dynamic dudes at dbx have been busy cramming all their classic compression technology into a new stereo box. Huw Price feels the squeeze...
Price: £1,854.00
Manufacturer: dbx
Website: http://www.dbxpro.com
The original dbx 162 compressor/limiter was the stereo version of the dbx 160, with one set of controls for both channels. This made setting it up for stereo or mix-buss compression a real doddle, but engineers got understandably frustrated that the 162’s channels couldn’t be used independently as two mono compressors. Cue the new dbx 162SL, a more affordable and slightly scaled-down version of the blue series 160SL that combines features from dbx compressors from the past, such as the 160 and the 165.
