Scan 3XS SA-X POWERDAW EXTREME
Built with music production firmly in mind, is this the first of a new generation of music PCs? Hollin Jones finds out.
Price: £2,190.00
Manufacturer: Scan
Website: http://www.scan.co.uk

Anyone who is serious about making music on their PC is well advised to buy their machine from a specialist audio PC builder. Not only do they tweak and set up the system for optimum audio performance, they provide support if things go wrong. Scan is just such a specialist and its latest desktop machine is based around Intel’s latest six-core processors. With an impressive set of specifications and the latest version of Windows, it aims to provide all the power you could need for running demanding audio projects. Scan is keen to point out that every build can be customised to suit the individual user, so the machine we tested is merely one version of what is possible: neither the base model nor the absolute top-of-the-range machine, but a fairly ‘typical’ model.
Score: 9
