Universal Audio is building on its reputation for creating quality plug-ins, with its latest offerings – the Neve 88RS and LA-3A – offering another flavour of vintage compression and a full-blown re-creation of the revered Neve 88RS console’s channel strip. The 88RS should be of particular interest, following hot on the heels of Neve’s own hardware repackaging of the 88RS channel strip – the 8801, reviewed last issue – as well as being the first complete software channel strip marketed for the UAD platform.
