Native Instruments Abbey Road 60's drums
Few of us will get to record at Abbey Road, but we can now get some of its sound. Mark Cousins picks up his sticks.
Price: £99.00
Manufacturer: Native Instruments

The first fruit of Native’s partnership with Abbey Road Studios is here, in the form of Abbey Road 60s Drums. Developed for use with Kontakt 4 (either the full version or the free Kontakt 4 Player), this library offers the classic sound of two vintage 60s drum kits, recorded with the appropriate audio technology and the studio ambience that has come to define the ‘Abbey Road sound’. Benefiting from several of Kontakt 4’s new features – from the striking GUI through to Kontakt’s new lossless compression format – it’s a strong rival to leading acoustic drum samplers such as BFD2 or Superior Drummer 2.0.
Score: 9
