Addictive Drums augments the usual multi-sampled kit sounds with impressive mixing options. Mark Cousins gets hooked...

Even for a professional engineer, recording a drum kit is a significant challenge – you need a large recording space, a well-tuned kit and a drummer who can play in time. And even if you’ve got those fundamentals right, you’ll need to consider how to mic up the kit. Do you use a few well-positioned stereo mics or a dozen or more strategically placed spot mics? Given this degree of complexity, it’s no surprise that products such as BFD, Strike and EZdrummer have been such big hits, obviating the logistical problems of recording in preference to sequencing and mixing realistic drum performances inside your DAW.
