The origins of Audio-Technica stretch back to post-war Japan, when the company was founded by Hideo Matsushita. It started out making high-quality record player cartridges, and began production of broadcast mics in 1978. Since then, some of its condenser microphones – such as the 4033 – have become modern classics, finding devotees among the elite of the recording industry. Audio-Technica introduced its first wireless mics in the 1980s, and here we’re looking at two systems from the new 3000 Series – the hand-held ATW-T3141, and the clip-on ATW-3110D.
