We’re not going to mention the shortcomings of the Elastik player again, so instead we’ll get straight on to the intrugingly-titled Balkan Lines, comprising 1,070 loops and samples occupying 3.6GB and presented in multiple plug-in formats. We’re not entirely convinced that, as the producers claim, ‘Balkan grooves are in high demand across the pro audio terrain’, but we’re willing to believe that there can’t be many sample collections of this nature floating around at present – and even less so, ones that mix R‘n’B, Reggaeton, house and hip hop with Balkan violins, bouzoukis and gypsy vocals.
