Toontrack is a company whose name is synonymous with drum software, its EZdrummer and Superior Drummer range having seen huge success over the last few years. Both packages can create realistic acoustic drum sounds and offer masses of options to tweak the mic setup, levels and effects. With new product Beatstation, though, the focus is more on giving the home producer an uncomplicated platform that they can use to layer up a variety of drum sounds and quickly sketch out ideas.
