Of all computer applications, music and digital audio are among the most demanding. It’s essential, therefore, that your choice of computer is up to the task of making music and that it is configured for maximum performance. Off-the-shelf computers are not usually tailored for music production and will certainly not have been tweaked to remove the excess treacle that Windows wants you to wade through. So, there’s much to be said for buying a system from a company that knows its onions and can customise a computer system to your own requirements and optimise its performance.
