Camel Audio has released new add-ons for its Alchemy virtual synth. Hollin Jones finds out if they have that magic ingredient.

Camel Audio has a reputation for producing slightly leftfield software synths that – unlike many others – have a small footprint thanks to their use of re-synthesis rather than relying on vast samples libraries. The company’s Alchemy synth has won many fans and there’s an ever-growing library of add-on sound banks being made for it. Among the latest are Cinematic Atmospheres and Electronic Bass, which, like other add-ons, work either in the full version of Alchemy or the Alchemy Player (which is included with any purchased sound bank in VST or AU formats).
