Sample Logic last graced the pages of Music Tech back in April (Issue 85) with its warmly received Morphestra library – a cutting-edge collection of warped cinematic textures designed to work with Kontakt 4. The company’s latest offering is Cinematic Guitars, which seems to follow in a similar vein to Morphestra, but this time exploring the sonic possibilities offered by various acoustic and electric guitars. Make no mistake, though: Cinematic Guitars is nothing like a ‘conventional’ collection of guitar samples – indeed, you might even struggle to recognise some of the sounds as having any string-based origins at all.
