It is generally accepted that the average desktop PC is more powerful and expandable than the average laptop. But anyone buying a laptop is presumably doing so for a good reason: a lack of space, perhaps, or simply the need to be mobile. Happily, using laptops for audio work no longer necessarily involves the kinds of compromises it once did. Technically speaking, laptops today are far superior to the models of five or six years ago.
