Korg D4
If you’re out of the studio when inspiration strikes, that hit tune might stay in your head for good. Mark Cousins finds a solution.
Price: £249.00

One thing that never ceases to amaze us is the sheer variety of sizes personal multitrack recorders seem to come in. From the enormous, almost console-sized multitrack recorders such as Korg’s D32XD to more diminutive recorders like the Zoom MRS-4B, it appears that there are both suitably priced and suitably sized personal multitrack recorders to meet almost everyone’s particular needs. Even so, we were still surprised when Korg’s D4 arrived at our studio for inspection. It wasn’t too long ago that a four-track, a drum machine, a reverb and an amp modelling unit would have necessitated losing a significant part of the spare room, but with Korg’s D4, the same technology can now fit in your pocket.
Score: 7
