MOTU Digital Performer 6
Version 6 has a new look, track comping and a unique approach to hosting soft synths that could spell the end for track freezing. Keith Gemmell notes the changes.

Digital Performer 6 was first announced and previewed way back in January 2008 at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California. Boasting a redesigned interface and two new CPU-efficient signal-processing plug-ins alongside a flexible track comping feature, it certainly looked to be an exciting and inspiring upgrade. Initially touted for release in the early spring, it’s not until only recently that it was actually released in the UK. So, will this latest incarnation live up to expectation?
