Cakewalk Dimension Pro

Cakewalk has finally set its flagship virtual instrument free – and even Mac users have cause to celebrate. Hollin Jones checks in to another Dimension...

Price: £169.00
Manufacturer: Cakewalk
Website: http://www.cakewalk.com

As music-production software has evolved, most companies have developed virtual instruments to accompany their sequencers (Steinberg and the now Apple-owned Emagic are two prime examples). Cakewalk hasn’t been resting on its laurels either, with both Sonar and Project5 sporting an impressive array of bundled plug-ins. Now, one of its flagship instruments, Dimension Pro, is available as a separate product, with 3GB more content. What’s more, it now works on the Mac as well as Windows PCs.

Score: 9
