The performance and design of nearfield monitors has improved significantly in the last ten years or so, with many models delivering a level of sonic detail that far exceeds their retail price. However, what this rise in monitoring performance has highlighted is the real problem that lurks in most of our studios – not in the quality of our speakers, but in the acoustics of the room itself.
