With ever-increasing processing power, multitrack recording using a laptop is now easier than ever, and recording to computer is far more prevalent than recording to any standalone recorder. So, how do you get audio into your computer? If you want more than two inputs and better sonic performance than a built-in soundcard without spending a fortune, a FireWire interface is an attractive option, but the market is hardly flooded with budget units.
