Line has spent the last decade turning FruityLoops – something of a beginner’s plaything – into a highly capable music production environment. FL Studio (as it has been known for some time now) is a Windows-only DAW and at version 9 is far removed from its early incarnations in terms of features. It’s quite unique among its contemporaries both in terms of its design and the agenda of the company, which is rather more generous than you might be accustomed to.
