Violet Design Garnet Microphone Review
The Violet Design Garnet is a nine-pattern valve microphone with a Neumann-inspired capsule. Huw Price feels a warming glow.
Price: £2.00
Manufacturer: Violet Design
Website: http://www.violet-design.com

By Violet’s standards the Garnet is a fairly conventional-looking microphone – there are no exaggerated wedges or unusual cut-outs and the capsule housing is rigidly fixed to the body. In fact, the most unusual feature is the side fixing for the suspension mount. This is an utterly ingenious design that’s effortless to attach and detach, offers no impediment to placement and is extremely secure.
Score: 8
