Harper Diabate HDV-1 Microphone Review
The HDV-1 is a multi-pattern valve condenser designed for general recording applications. Huw Price powers up.
Price: £325.00
Manufacturer: Harper Diabate

Harper Diabate seems to be a company with old-school values at heart. So far it has released only two microphones: a figure-8 ribbon and a multi-pattern valve condenser. While the HDR-1 ribbon takes its styling cues from the iconic RCA 77, the HDV-1 we’re reviewing here isn’t a million miles away from an AKG C12 – which isn’t a bad starting point for any valve mic.
Score: 7
