Having devoted much time to low-cost USB audio interfaces, it’s pleasing to finally see Lexicon shifting its attention towards the growing number of FireWire solutions. There’s certainly been a good deal of development in this area recently, with many manufacturers realising that an audio interface needs to be more than a collection of ins and outs connected via a FireWire lead. Indeed, with a range of mixing options and even signal processing in some cases, the FireWire audio interface is starting to look more like the hub of a contemporary studio than just a route in and out of your DAW.
