Korg iElectribe

Price: £5.99
Manufacturer: Korg
Website: http://www.korg.com

Replicating the original Electribe R, iElectribe offers decent editing capabilities for some simple but fun sound generation. Each of the possible 160 preset patterns lasts a maximum of 64 steps, so longer ideas need to be thought out and copied from an initial pattern so you’re starting with the same sound each time. Unlike the hardware version, you cannot program pattern playback into full songs, but since the June update you can now export single patterns or record a live song performance, which makes it a serious sound and ideas source for your DAW.

Score: 8
