Focusrite ISA One
A classic Rupert Neve-designed preamp in a portable package with a fully independent DI channel? Huw Price tries out the ISA One.
Price: £500.00
Manufacturer: Focusrite
Website: http://www.focusrite.com

At the heart of Focusrite’s new ISA One is a pedigree preamp that has remained largely unchanged since Rupert Neve first designed it in the mid 1980s. So, in essence, the ISA One is the same as the ISA 110, complete with the Lundahl L1538 transformer and bespoke zobel network, but it’s housed in a portable metal case rather than a rackmount chassis. Despite the fact that it isn’t afforded the same degree of protection offered by the hardy rackmount format, there should be no concerns about the ISA One’s suitability for life on the road because each unit ships in a very rugged fitted flightcase.
Score: 9
