USB controller keyboards are an easy way of entering MIDI data into sequencers. A number of models are available from Edirol, Evolution and Novation, among others. Many of these keyboards also feature faders, rotary controllers and button controllers, but keyboard players have been shying away from USB controllers because of the small size of many of them and their poor action. Until now, the only way to get an 88-key hammer-action keyboard to control soft synths was to buy a MIDI master controller from the likes of Fatar, Roland or Yamaha and connect it with a MIDI-to-USB device. The Keystation Pro 88 has been designed to fill this gap and is the first USB buss-powered master MIDI controller to feature 88 hammer-action keys.
