Finding a niche in today’s range of hardware and software audio products for a mould-breaking creation is a difficult task. Musicians and producers are usually sceptical of changing their workflow in any drastic way, and many companies find it easier to streamline and improve existing products than to risk building anything too different. Native Instruments, however, isn’t happy simply improving its line of industry-standard instruments and effects. Instead, the company is again attempting to alter users’ perceptions with the release of a new universal sound platform: Kore – a tightly integrated hybrid system marrying a software host with an intuitive hardware controller/audio interface.
