Novation Launchpad Midi Controller for Ableton Live
Live is geared for performing on the move and Novation’s Launchpad could be the ideal tool for adding that human touch. Hollin Jones finds out if it’s a match made in heaven.
Price: £150.00

Ableton Live is an application that perhaps more than any other DAW responds well to hands-on, tactile control due to its loop-based approach to sequencing music. Not so long ago we looked at AKAI’s APC40 dedicated Live controller, which we praised for the overall level of control it placed in the hands of the user. What it wasn’t, though, is particularly portable – not, at least, by comparison to the new Novation Launchpad, als developed in partnership with Ableton and offering a slightly different approach.
Score: 9
