To get the best results when conducting field recording, you should aim to use recording equipment that’s at least as good as the kit in your studio. However, many project studio owners make do with portable MiniDisc or Flash memory recorders, capturing sound via the device’s built-in microphone. But while the portable recorder market has been busy developing pro-level audio equipment such as preamps and high-resolution A/D and D/A converters, Tapco has opted to bridge the gap by improving the portability of studio gear.
