To dismiss the arrival of Logic Pro 7 as ‘just another software update’ would be a severe misrepresentation. Now fully absorbed into the Apple brand, Logic Pro 7 effectively marks the end of Emagic as we knew it – beyond providing support for users of Logic 5 and 6. The new Apple-driven Logic Pro presents some significant changes to a much-loved application, including a completely redesigned user interface, nine new instrument and effects plug-ins, plus the eagerly awaited addition of Distributed Audio Processing. But the latest release of Logic Pro isn’t without its fair share of controversy, with Apple’s decisions sending repercussions throughout the entire industry.
