The Fast Track is the smallest of M-Audio’s USB range of audio interfaces, offering an inexpensive way of bringing high-quality audio I/O to your workstation or laptop studio. While the basic model reviewed here has only a single XLR mic input and one 1/4-inch instrument input alongside stereo RCA outputs, it is joined by three other Fast Track models – the 4x4 Fast Track Pro, 8x8 Fast Track Ultra, and the flagship Fast Track Ultra 8R, which houses eight mic preamps and features MX Core DSP technology.
