Apple Mac Mini
At just over £300 and weighing a mere 1.4kg, Apple introduces the smallest, most affordable Mac ever. Mark Cousins test-drives the Mac Mini.

Never keen to rest on its laurels, Apple seems to be on a mission to constantly reinvent the personal computer. So, enter its latest design, the Mac Mini, a bid to make Apple technology both affordable and discrete – especially in comparison to the Goliath price and footprint of the G5. By dispensing with ‘extras’ such as a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and packing the proven technology of the G4 processor into a box no bigger than most external hard drives, Apple may well have created the most compelling reason yet for PC users to run two systems in tandem. Alternatively, for those using Logic Pro 7, the temptation to use a Mac Mini as a performance-enhancing Node, makes this a rather intriguing proposition.
