Mark Of The Unicorn MachFive
MOTU’s MachFive soft sampler looks set to break new sound barriers – but does it really create a sonic boom? Keith Gemmell investigates...
Price: £295.00
Manufacturer: Mark Of The Unicorn

Once upon a time, at the dawn of the hi-tech music industry, the sampler reigned supreme. A peek round the door of any recording studio worth its rate card would reveal a group of musicians, engineers and producers struggling with the awkward front-panel controls on their Akai S1000. Not only were machines like these bulky and expensive, they had limited sampling memory and your data had to be saved to a removable storage medium.
Score: 9
