Announcements were made as long ago as 2005 – and alleged sightings have been reported ever since – but it’s only now that MachFive 2 has touched down. Surround sound-capable and deemed light years ahead of its nearest rivals, MOTU’s Universal Sampler first appeared in the autumn of 2003. But four years is a long time to wait for an update and some MachFive devotees on the Mac platform switched to rival applications such as Kontakt 2 when the Intel machines arrived.
