Yamaha Magicstomp

For many guitarists, the valve is King and digital modelling is still a no-go area. Jon Griffin gets to grips with 1s and 0s...

Price: £170.00
Manufacturer: Yamaha
Website: http://www.magicstomp.com

It’s scary thinking about what digital technology can do – and, sometimes, not do – for us. Along with the revolution in compacting famous synthesizers into lines of code and providing bedroom musicians with the same outboard equipment as Abbey Road, there’s the increasing market in instrument modelling. Acoustic instruments, drums, basses and guitar rigs… it seems that nothing is excluded.

Score: 9
