Celemony Software Melodyne 2.0
The original Melodyne was one of those products which seemed to push the boundaries of music technology. Now there’s a new version, but is Keith Gemmell still singing its praises?
Price: £500.00

Imagine this: you’ve recorded an almost perfect vocal track on your latest demo but, chuffed as you are, like most musicians and singers, you’re not completely satisfied with your own performance. There are still a few ‘ill-chosen’ notes in there that you’d just love to change. Of course, this is possible using the audio editing features of programs such as Cubase, Logic and WaveLab. But this is a busy tune and with so many notes, finding the segments, cutting, pitch shifting, time stretching, dealing with zero crossings and auditioning the results could take ages and still sound less than satisfactory.
Score: 9
