The last Yamaha mixer to come under our scrutiny was the EMX5016CF, a powered live mixer with built-in DSP effects and one-knob-per-channel compressors alongside a full complement of I/O options. But that was some months ago (Issue 50, May) and the technology introduced in the EMX5016CF is now being brought to the project studio with the new MG range of mixers, which also provide direct connection to PC or Mac via USB.
