The humble MIDI controller has come a long way in recent years, evolving from keyboards with a simple MIDI output to USB interfaces that could connect directly to a PC or Mac, and subsequently to complex hybrid controllers with a variety of functions, such as the Novation XioSynth. The M-Audio MidAir range represents one of the latest technological improvements to the MIDI controller market – that of wireless interfacing. The wireless technology featured in the MidAir range has been developed by Frontier Design Group, and was first seen in the Tranzport wireless DAW controller.
