It’s hard to put a price on inspiration when writing music. For some producers, just a single note on an intricate synth patch can spark several ideas, whereas for others it’s all about the melody and the groove. Smash Up The Studio has recently launched a new range of MIDI packs containing loops that can be imported into your session and then assigned an appropriate sound. All of the packs have been played by Steve Burton, whose keyboard work can be heard on tracks by artists such as Jocelyn Brown, Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston, as well as on labels such as Ministry of Sound and Strictly Rhythm.
