One of the major driving forces behind the development of software synthesizers has been the difficulty and cost of obtaining the real thing. This is especially true of the Moog Modular, an awesome, towering monster of a synth from the late 1960s. Arturia’s original software version, the Moog Modular V, made the classic Moog sound available again to computer users, with Bob Moog’s seal of approval. Version 2.0 is more of an update than a revamp, but continues to build on the strengths of its predecessor.
Score: 9
