Image Line Software Morphine
Image Line’s new plug-in aims to relieve some of the pain associated with additive synthesis. Keith Gemmell is addicted.
Price: £159.00
Manufacturer: Image Line Software

Belgian software developer Image Line is best known for its aggressively priced DAW FL Studio – a Windows-only application that has become extremely popular with electro musicians and producers. And to complement such an appealing product, the company also produces a range of plug-ins, that has until now comprised three synths – two hybrids (Styrus and Toxic), and one subtractive (PiZone). It’s perhaps no surprise, then, that Image Line’s fourth synthesizer – Morphine – is of the additive variety. It’s interesting, too, that Morphine is the first fully Mac-compatible synth produced by Image Line, with both AU and VSTi versions available.
